This is one of my all time favorites from growing up. When it was our birthday we could request our favorite meal & this was often what I requested. It is so good!! We usually serve it with bread but it is also really good when you dip chicken or vegetables into it. That way you can also please the meat eaters.
Directions:
1 ¾ c. chicken broth
1 clove minced garlic, or garlic powder
Bring to boil in a large pot.
Add:
2 c. grated Swiss cheese
2 c. grated Monterey jack cheese
Stir until cheese is melted.
In another bowl, mix:
3Tbsp cornstarch,
¾ tsp salt
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
pinch of pepper
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ c. chicken broth
Add it to the cheese, mix until smooth. Serve with chunks of French artisian bread, vegetables, cooked steak or chicken. Use a fondue pot or crockpot to keep warm while eating.
