This is one of Rich's VERY favorite dinners. He's a meat & potatoes kind of guy. It's good. Growing up, my mom used a can of condensed tomato soup instead of brown gravy. It's good that way, too.
1 lb ground beef
1 chopped onion
1 pkg. frozen green beans (or mixed vegetables)
1 pkg. dry brown gravy mix
1/2 c. water
4 c. mashed potatoes, prepared
2 c. grated cheddar cheese
Cook meat, and onions. Drain off fat. Add gravy mix and water, cook until thickened. Boil about 6 potatoes until cooked through. Mash and add milk and butter, salt & pepper to season. In a 9 x 13 pan pour green beans on bottom, then cooked beef, then spread mashed potatoes on top, and sprinkle with cheese. Cook at 375 until warmed through, 30-40 minutes.
