French Dip Bread Roll

I made a most delicious dinner recently.  My family loved it- I did, too.  The leftovers were just as delicious as the original.  I will definitely be making this again.  I saw an idea somewhere to make French dip sandwiches baked in crescent rolls. However, I did a whole bread roll of it.

I grew up eating French dip sandwiches.  My mom used to make them a lot when we were kids and I remember really loving them.  I rarely eat them anymore, though for some reason.  So this new & simple variation really brought it back to life for me.

I made it using a homemade whole wheat bread dough.  You could very easily buy a store-bought bread dough to simplify the process.

Here's what you'll need to make this:
1 lb roast beef deli meat
1 pkg sliced provolone cheese ( I used a whole pkg. about 12 slices I think)
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 pkg au jus gravy mix, or 1 can french onion soup

Here is what I like:

Roll out the bread dough into a rectangle.  Place on a greased cookie sheet.  Layer the dough with roast beef, and cheeses.  Starting on one long side, roll up.  Pinch sides together and place the seam on the bottom.  Top with melted dough and a little more Parmesan cheese.   Bake in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes- until dough is cooked through.  While cooking, prepare the dipping sauce

Oh! I think I'll make this for Handsome Greg's lunches. Does it re-heat OK in the microwave?
