Melt Away Cookies

These are called melt aways, because they are so soft they literally melt in your mouth. Does that tempt you a little bit?

These cookies are an old family favorite that we often make at holiday time. I was informed this week by one of my siblings that this recipe disappeared from my blog. I actually think I never posted it. I am so glad people keep reminding me of our old favorites that I need to post.

Christmas time is a big time for family around here. We are all together this week and it's always fun to continue our old traditions with the younger generation now. I have realized recently that so much of our traditions revolve around food. The recipes we make, the time we spend together in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. And, of course, eating together. Our family is really passionate & emotional about our food.

So, with that introduction, here is the missing recipe for my brother!
Melt Away Cookies

2 sticks butter, softened
3/4 c. corn starch
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. flour

Mix well & roll into small balls. Press flat with the bottom of a glass. Bake @ 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Frost when cooled.

Frosting

3 oz. cream cheese, soft
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. powdered sugar
tint with food coloring

Jessy- I am so sorry the cookies didn't work. I have never had them fall apart. I wonder if you live in a really dry climate? I am in UT & sometimes when my cookies are dry I add a Tablespoon of water to the dough before cooking.
