Sausage & Cheese Strata

Here's another old family favorite that came from my Grandma. We had this for breakfast on Christmas morning. It's good stuff!

Sausage & Cheese Strata
1 lb ground sausage, cooked
10 slices bread, crust removed, cut into 1" cubes
1 lb grated Monterey Jack cheese
5 eggs, slightly beaten
1 3/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp melted butter
1 Tbsp chopped chives or green onions

Grease a casserole pan. Arrange half of bread in pan. Sprinkle with half of cheese & cooked sausage. Layer again and press down. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the top. Drizzle melted butter over the top. Chill overnight.

Bake @ 350 degrees for 1 hour, until golden & bubbly.
