No Fry Fish Sticks

These were so yummy!  They were so fast and easy to make, too.  Very healthy, too.

1 lb skinless tilapia filets (About 2)
3/4 c. bread crumbs (I used the seasoned ones)
1/4 c. olive oil
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
salt & pepper

Heat the oven to 400 degrees.  Cut the fish into small strips.  In a shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs with seasonings and oil.  Coat the fish in the breadcrumbs- you will have to press it on a little to get it to stick. Put them on a baking sheet and bake 10-15 minutes- until crispy and opaque throughout.

The directions on this recipe say they can be frozen- unbaked.  You put them on the cookie sheet and freeze until firm.  Then transfer to a freezer-safe container.  They will keep for up to 3 months. I think this would be a good one to prepare in bulk and freeze to pop in the oven whenever.

I love how you are trying out the recipe and posting the result etc. I might copy your idea soon ;) And this fish sticks... sounds great! I wonder if coating the fish with milk will make it easier for bread crumbs to stick. Do you use panko sometimes? That might make them crispier! Yum... I will definitely try this. Thanks!!! And keep it coming :) :) :)
